We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join BOHO X. This hands‑on role supports the kitchen team in food preparation, basic cooking tasks, cleaning and maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, following instructions and contributing to a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with basic food preparation and simple cooking tasks according to recipes and portion guidelines.
• Prepare ingredients, wash, peel and chop vegetables, and portion items as required.
• Maintain clean and organised workstations throughout service.
• Wash, sanitise and store kitchen equipment, utensils and crockery.
• Support stock rotation, basic unpacking of deliveries and storage to labelled systems.
• Assist with basic plating during service.
• Follow food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures, including temperature checks and correct labelling.
• Dispose of waste correctly and help minimise food waste.
• Communicate promptly with chefs and front‑of‑house to support service flow.
• Complete cleaning schedules and contribute to deep‑clean tasks when required.
Key Skills Required
• Practical experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment preferred.
• Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safe handling practices.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly including weekends and evenings.
• Team player with clear communication skills.
Desirable
• Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous experience in a high‑volume or casual dining setting.
