We are seeking a confident, hands-on Front of House Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations within a busy and dynamic market hall. This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives on the floor, delivers outstanding customer service, and brings strong leadership, stock control, and barista expertise.
You will be responsible for ensuring seamless service across multiple vendors or counters, maintaining exceptional standards of quality, efficiency, and guest experience at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House Operations
Supervise and coordinate daily Front of House activities across the market hall
Lead by example, delivering consistently excellent customer service
Manage staff rotas, breaks, and floor coverage during peak and quieter periods
Act as the first point of contact for customer queries, feedback, and complaints
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and health & safety compliance
Stock Control & Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels across food, beverage, and retail areas
Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies
Collaborate with vendors and management to forecast demand and minimise waste
Ensure correct stock storage, rotation (FIFO), and handling procedures
Support ordering processes and maintain accurate inventory records
Barista & Beverage Oversight
Prepare high-quality coffee and beverages to a professional standard
Train and support team members in barista skills and coffee knowledge
Maintain coffee machines and equipment, ensuring consistent product quality
Monitor usage of coffee beans, milk, and related supplies
Uphold all hygiene and food safety standards in beverage preparation areas
Team Leadership & Development
Motivate, train, and supervise Front of House team members
Deliver daily briefings and communicate operational updates clearly
Support onboarding and ongoing training and development
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
Sales & Performance
Drive sales through proactive upselling and exceptional service
Monitor daily performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Support promotional activities, activations, and events within the market hall
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Previous experience in a Front of House supervisory role within hospitality
Qualified barista with strong coffee knowledge and hands-on experience
Proven experience managing stock control and inventory
Strong leadership, organisation, and people-management skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Desirable:
Experience working in food halls, markets, or multi-outlet venues
Food Safety and Hygiene certification
Basic knowledge of POS systems and reporting
